Sun Innovations, Inc. has embedded it's proprietary nano-phosphor materials into the screen protector film. The 405nm laser beam excites these phosphors, causing them to glow. 

Not unless it emits a 405nm wavelength of light. Other presenters use different wavelengths which don't activate the embedded nano-phosphors.
